My tulips are blooming! 2021 Spring Garden

WELCOME SPRING!

I am so happy that my tulips are finally blooming, I had no doubt that these were going to be a show stopper in my garden!

A couple of my neighbors already mentioned how much they enjoy my Spring garden, especially my tulips and the amazing pinks and purples for this year! I am a sucker for pinks!

I bought most of my tulips from Dutch Grown, I was really impressed with the packaging and the quality of the bulbs and I am SO please with the results that I will be a return costumer this year for sure! For my followers in the UK, you can also find them there as well at UK Dutch Grown

One of my favorite corners in my garden, the tulips love it here as well!
Sometimes, all you need is a little bit of light to add that ambience!
The tulips are definitely one of my FAVORITE Spring bloom!
Pretty Princess Tulip, a bit short BUT a GORGEOUS one!
Yes, I know I need to update my lovely lady with her dead flowers from last fall, but I am captivated with the tulips at the moment.
This one is MENTON, what a gorgeous punch of peach-salmon-ish color!
Even when the tulips are passed their bloom time, I still love the color that they provide!

Fall dividing is not about perfection. 🙌
Right now I just want them clean and easy to store.
Single tubers can wait until spring.
Playing it safe means more plants next year, not fewer.

Digging tubers before a frost… yes, it’s doable!

Personally, I wait until my tubers are mature enough and I dig them when it’s still nice outside, and it works!

When a zinnia stops me in my tracks, I tie a piece of string around the stem.
A few weeks later every head in the bed is brown and they all look exactly the same. Except the ones with the string, those get a second life next summer.

Do you make your favorite blooms? Or trust your memory? Mine is not to be trusted.

Yes, I write on my dahlia tubers.
No plastic tags. No separate tubs for every variety.
Just a thick sharpie and the variety initials… Can you guess this dahlia’s name?
